The airline was established in the year 1994 as ModiLuft. In the year 2004, Indian entrepreneur Ajay Singh acquired the company and renamed it SpiceJet.
SpiceJet is the Second-largest Airline Company in India in domestic passenger volume and the largest in regional connectivity.
